What She’s Passionate About

Synthesizing ideas into clear, concise, eloquent messages that inspire teams to action.

Professional Experience

Abby has guided organizations and teams through strategic transformations – from software implementations and process changes to large-scale culture change – using clear communication, leadership alignment, and optimized training to smooth employee transitions and enable great work. She brings deep expertise in marketing communications and writing. Her previous positions include associate producer of NBC affiliate WPXI-TV’s weekly show, “Our Region’s Business,” and crafting communications strategies and solutions to promote the Pittsburgh region for business investment and job creation at the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, an economic development nonprofit.

An Unlikely Path

Abby majored in comparative literature with a minor in film studies at Smith College. While not exactly the degree you might expect, it taught her to be an excellent writer who can adeptly analyze interdisciplinary, complex ideas. Then articulate those ideas in creative ways that move people.

How She Makes a Difference

Abby is a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh Inc.’s Leadership Development Initiative, Class XVI. Previous community service roles include six years on the board of directors at Pittsburgh’s City Theatre, mentoring college women through Strong Women Strong Girls, and president of the progress and partnership-focused collective of young professional organizations, the New Pittsburgh Collaborative (NPC).
