What She’s Passionate About

As a healthcare and visionary nurse influencer, Brenda works to protect women, children, and the elderly. Her areas of specialty include perinatal safety, high reliability and maternal and child pediatrics. She loves to teach people how to speak up for themselves in a medical system that frequently puts them at risk.

Her Professional Experience

As a Certified Patient Safety expert, Brenda has forged a path in patient advocacy, quality, and safety in the U.S. She has over 25 years of experience in the field of maternal and child patient care. She has also surveyed hundreds of hospitals in the area of patient/perinatal safety. Notable past roles include Illinois Deputy Director of Women’s Health at the Illinois Department of Health; Vice President of Quality, Safety and Risk for one of the largest federally qualified health centers in the country; and Nurse Surveyor at The Joint Commission.

She has excelled at leading people and building teams for remarkable process improvement and lasting positive change. Brenda is also accomplished at bringing calm and efficiency to chaotic, high-risk situations.

Brenda loves to travel, especially on mission trips. She’s been to Haiti, El Salvador, Mexico, and Jonestown Guyana, to name a few.
