What She Brings to the Table
Karen is a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance, with over 25 years of experience as a learning and performance consultant. She has two master’s degrees – one in education and the second in computer science. She ran her own learning consulting company for 20 years prior to her joining TiER1 as a result of an acquisition.
An Unlikely Path
Karen began her work career as a middle school math teacher for four years and then taught math at Ball State University for two years. She then worked as a Scientific Analyst at Eli Lilly and Company for eight years before starting her career as a trainer and learning consultant.
What She Values
Karen is a numbers and QuickBooks geek. Over the years, she has served as Treasurer or Finance Chair for several non-profits including Girl Scouts, Mensa, IWLF & ATD-CIC. Karen loves balancing accounts all the way to the penny.
Where She Makes a Difference
Karen has been on the Board of Directors for Integrating Woman Leaders Foundation (IWLF) for six years. IWLF exists to develop individual women into leaders through empowerment, support, and connections. Karen is also extremely involved in her church, her local Mensa chapter, and several non-profits highlighting her purpose-driven commitment.
Karen has two adult children, Matt and Kristen, and a son-in-law, Glenn. Karen is also a doting aunt to lots of nieces & nephews.
