CREATE LEARNER SURVEYS THAT PRODUCE actionable DATA
This online certification workshop through TiER1 Performance Institute will prepare you to begin writing and tailoring learner-survey questions using Will Thalheimer’s Performance-Focused Learner Survey methodology—based on the second edition of his award-winning book. Thalheimer’s distinctive questioning techniques will enable you to measure learning effectiveness, produce actionable results, and send messages that nudge action.
PERFORMANCE-FOCUSED LEARNER SURVEYS
certification WORKSHOP
Traditional smile sheets have a bad reputation—and deservedly so! They just don’t tell us very much. Fortunately, learner surveys, when well crafted, can provide us with useful and immediate measures of learning effectiveness. In this online workshop, you’ll learn how to avoid the most common mistakes in learner-survey design, including the fuzziness of Likert and numeric scales. You’ll also learn how to use distinctive questioning to support your respondents’ decision-making and how to improve response rates, use comment questions, and tailor your questions for maximum effectiveness.
This workshop is open to all, though it is designed for experienced learning and performance professionals. Note that while Thalheimer’s distinctive questioning approach can be used for employee engagement surveys, exit surveys, conference surveys, and more, this workshop will be focused primarily on surveys for learners.
The workshop involves live online content discussions, challenging exercises, personal reflections, peer discussions, and scenario decision-making questions. Those who are successful in meeting the optional certification requirements will earn a gold certification, indicating that they can make good learner-survey design decisions at a Learning-Transfer Evaluation Model (LTEM) Tier-5 level of rigor.
