Dan has ten core beliefs (that he’s happy to share upon request). The first is, “We are all capable of much more than we think we are.” That’s what drew him into the learning and development world over 20 years ago. Watching someone experience an “a-ha moment” in real time gets him pretty charged up. Most days, Dan’s amazed that people pay him to make that moment happen.
Dan’s been a sales representative for a production company, sales manager for a corporate communications firm, marketing director for an industrial machinery manufacturer, and copywriter for an ad agency. The result: he has produced effective communication and learning in nearly every medium and application including training, retailer communications, newsletters, marketing, public relations, brand development, WBT, ILT, vILT, AR, VR, SMS and a whole lot of other cool acronyms. Prior to TiER1, Dan spent just over two decades as Creative and Curriculum Director for Pro-Active Performance, specializing in the luxury import automotive sector. But he still feels his most important job ever was three years as a Resident Assistant in college. There, he learned skills in interpersonal relationships, diplomacy, conflict management and counseling that still serve him well.
Dan has a pretty, terrific wife (punctuation matters), one dog and two grown kids, both out of the house and paying their own bills. Home base: bucolic West Chester, PA.
“I firmly believe that any man’s finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle — victorious.” – Vince Lombardi
Dan is happiest when he’s outside, preferably a little too sweaty, cold or wet and on the way to a mountain peak. He occasionally brews beer, noodles clumsily on the guitar and in case you’re ever looking for a fourth, doesn’t mind the occasional middling round of golf. He’s also a Penn State alum and season ticket holder, so you’ll know exactly where to find him on at least seven Saturdays every year.
