HERE’S HOW IT works

Our paid internships are a unique opportunity to learn about consulting and “try it on for size.” While the internships are open to all, we offer diversity scholarships (tuition assistance) specifically for underrepresented groups.

Who can apply?

For an internship, any upcoming full-time juniors, seniors, and graduate students who:

  • Are enrolled at Northwestern University, Vanderbilt University, Boise State University, or a university in the greater Cincinnati, Indianapolis, or Pittsburgh regions
  • Are legally authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely
  • Have a 3.2 GPA or higher

For a scholarship, anyone who meets the criteria for an internship and identifies as one or more of the following: Asian, Black, African American, Native American, Pacific Islander, Hispanic, and Latinx

What’s the scholarship?

Up to four scholarships will be awarded every year. Each scholarship includes:

  • A $2,500 tuition award to offset the student’s cost at their current academic institution
  • A full-time 10-week+ paid internship in Change & Communications, Instructional Design, or Visual Design to be completed within 12 months of the award

What’s the timeline?

Our internships are ongoing, so you can apply anytime. We typically review applications and interview candidates in February, June, and October.

We offer 10-week+ paid internships at TiER1’s Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Pittsburgh locations.

Note: Change & Communications interns may also be based in Chicago.
