About the Book

After 20 years of leading an award-winning, healthy, high-growth company, Greg shares insights, experiences, and frameworks that help leaders create organizations that make a difference in the lives of the people we serve.
This book was written for leaders who want to use their position of influence to build healthier, high-performing, people-centered organizations. It is part philosophy, exploring how for-profit businesses can be intentionally designed to be healthy and impactful, and part practice, sharing frameworks and models that help leaders break from conventional models and think differently about how organizations operate. All of it is focused on people and how, when we lead with love, we can create environments that make a difference.
As Greg writes, “People want to work on the side of good. They want to be engaged and to be challenged and to grow. They want to be part of something that has a purpose and a soul and meaning. They want to be supported. They want to be trusted. And they want to love and be loved. In the process of creating such an environment, we will affect people’s lives. And in doing so, we will build a better world.”
About the Author
Greg Harmeyer is the cofounder of TiER1 Performance and CEO of its parent company, TiER1 Impact PBC, Inc. Greg is passionate about unlocking the potential in people, teams, and ideas. During his leadership, TiER1 has become a multi-year Best Places to Work recipient and 15-time honoree of the Inc. 5000 list of the country’s fastest-growing privately held companies. Over the course of 20 years, Greg has led TiER1 to serve hundreds of the world’s best organizations and, in the process, developed an award-winning culture that has positively impacted thousands of lives.
Greg earned his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Dayton and his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management where he graduated with distinction. He has served on multiple nonprofit and for-profit boards and is actively involved in the cause of mental health, serving as a board member for the Lindner Center of HOPE in Mason, Ohio, and speaking regularly on the topic of mental health in the workplace. He resides in Liberty Township, Ohio, with his wife and four children.
Greg’s Why
Greg wrote this book to help inspire leaders who believe business can be a force for good in the world. The book is a reflection on TiER1’s journey to find a better way to work, one that would positively impact the lives of the people we touch. It was made possible by the many people and organizations who have walked that journey with TiER1, creating paths along the way and helping us see impact and love all around us.
