TiER1 Is Recognized for Its Growth and Positive Impact on Employees

TiER1 Performance is named to the Inc. 5000 list for the 15th consecutive year, and B Lab’s Best for the World™ list for the second year.

We are thrilled to announce that for the 15th consecutive year, TiER1 Performance has been named to Inc. Magazine’s Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing privately held companies in the U.S. for 2021. The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent small businesses. Intuit, Zappos, Under Armour, Microsoft, Patagonia, and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees on the Inc. 5000 list.

Not only have the companies on the 2021 Inc. 5000 been very competitive within their markets, but this year’s list also proved especially resilient and flexible given 2020’s unprecedented challenges. Among the 5,000, the average median three-year growth rate soared to 543%, and median revenue reached $11.1 million. Together, these companies added more than 610,000 jobs over the past three years.

This recognition comes on the heels of TiER1 Performance being named a Best for the World™ company in the workers category. Best for the World™ recognition is administered by B Lab, the global nonprofit that certifies and supports Certified B Corporations, which are for-profit companies dedicated to using business as a force for good. (TiER1 Performance initially gained B Corp status in 2018, and currently is undergoing the process for recertification for the next three years.)

Every year, B Lab recognizes the top-performing B Corps with the greatest impact. The businesses are evaluated in five impact areas—community, customers, environment, governance, and workers—and the honorees score among the global top 5% in their corresponding size group. This means out of the 4,000 Certified B Corps worldwide, TiER1 is among the top 5% in the impact area of workers.

B Corps recognized in the workers category are celebrated for creating positive impacts for their workforce through compensation, benefits, ownership opportunities, employee health, and more. TiER1 received the same recognition in 2019; however, the Best for the World™ awards were cancelled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. At TiER1, the well-being of employees is a central focus. All employees, for example, receive four weeks of paid time off each year, as well as two additional days for community service activities. Employees are also able to flex their hours to accommodate their schedules and can work from home when needed. Even as employees work remotely, TiER1 offers a variety of ways to connect virtually, such as through the Coffee Talk app; Yammer; and Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) roundtable discussions, which enable employees to form bonds and share what’s on their mind in a nonjudgmental space.

These honors are especially important as TiER1 continues to expand geographically and grow our talent. They serve as a reflection of TiER1’s values, which help fuel employees to serve the company’s mission: to improve organizations through the performance of people to build a better world.

TiER1 Performance

TiER1’s mission is to improve organizations through the performance of people to build a better world. We wake up every morning ready to tackle big challenges, so that more people can do the amazing work they are meant to do. When they contribute more, stretch their talents, and free themselves of workplace limits, a remarkable thing happens—they become happier and more fulfilled. And that means they reduce stress, create healthier relationships, and simply find more joy. Every day we’re in business, we really are building a better world. Our purpose is to help people do their best work—that’s the lens we wear every day. As an employee-owned firm, we apply that to our client organizations, their people, and ourselves. And to do that, we embrace our core values: High Performance, Relationships, Initiative, Accountability, Value, AND Fun.
