Katie Camargo Steps Up as TiER1’s First Chief Transformation Officer

The new role reflects TiER1’s continued investment in helping organizations navigate increasingly emergent and complex transformation.

As organizational transformation becomes increasingly emergent and complex, TiER1 Performance is strengthening how it delivers impact for clients with the addition of its first Chief Transformation Officer (CTrO), served by Katie Camargo.

“We continue to be trusted by some of the world’s largest organizations to orchestrate complex, emergent transformation or untangle intertwined barriers to organizational performance,” shares TiER1 Performance President Katie Frey. “Technology, particularly AI, is quickly changing the nature of that work. This role allows us to be more adaptable while ensuring we’re consistently delivering strategies and solutions that drive measurable results.”

The CTrO role builds on TiER1’s ongoing brand evolution as an end-to-end organizational performance and transformation partner and positions TiER1 to better meet clients’ needs as they navigate changing technologies, market demands, workforce needs, and customer expectations.

Camargo’s appointment reflects TiER1’s continued investment in helping clients align every dimension of transformation, from leadership and customer experience to operations and organizational change.

“Transformation isn’t something organizations implement; it’s something they enable,” Camargo says. “Lasting change happens when strategy, leadership, technology, culture, and ways of working evolve together, creating the conditions for people to understand, adopt, and sustain what’s changing.”

Camargo joined TiER1 Performance in 2023, with the company’s acquisition of THRUUE, a Washington D.C.-based consulting firm where she previously served as vice president and chief operating officer. With more than 20 years of experience developing strategy, aligning leadership, strengthening culture, and activating change across commercial, nonprofit, and government organizations, Camargo is well positioned to deliver TiER1’s human-centered, integrated solutions that span four core areas:

  • People & Culture – Leadership alignment, employee experience, talent planning and development, and culture transformation
  • Operations & Safety – Operational efficiency, compliance, safety, quality, and enterprise performance improvement
  • Growth & Customer Experience – Go-to-market readiness, product launch, sales and ecosystem effectiveness, and service design
  • Organizational Evolution – Business, digital, and AI transformation initiatives

Regardless of what’s fueling transformation at an organization, Camargo is focused on ensuring that people remain at the center and are empowered to perform as they navigate uncertainty. She does this by helping leaders create clarity, which starts with developing a clear strategy grounded in specific outcomes and then shaping the full organizational system (including structure, talent, culture, systems and processes, and leadership and governance) to support the intended transformation. This is especially important as market disruptions like the proliferation of AI require organizations to intentionally create the conditions needed for both individual and enterprise success with AI.

“Katie’s skillset and deep expertise in transformation and culture make her the perfect fit for this role,” Frey says. “We have bold ambitions for our future and Katie is well equipped to support the curiosity and discovery needed for us to stay ahead of the needs of our clients while continuing our own people centered leadership practices.”
